EcoAthletes is thrilled to partner with Ocean Conservancy for the groundbreaking Protect Where We Play initiative. We will work together to urgently engage athletes and entertainers to raise the call, “ocean health is human health.”

EcoAthletes’ mission is to provide our growing athlete community of more than 190 Champions with mentorship and opportunities to lead on climate. Together, we can mobilize millions of fans to protect our oceans – where 90% of global warming is absorbed.

EcoAthletes is a 5-year-old nonprofit with the mission to empower athletes to lead climate action. Athletes have led on civil rights, women’s rights, and more. Now, it’s time for the climate comeback.

EcoAthletes has connected Protect Where We Play with exemplary EcoAthletes Champions like WNBA All-Star Napheesa Collier and Cincinnati Reds pitcher Brent Suter. Protect Where We Play is also the title sponsor of the 2025 EcoAthletes Collegiate Cup, featuring student-athletes on 28 campuses competing to protect the environment.
