Olympic Silver Medalist Anita Alvarez Joins Team Ocean!

Anita Alvarez is an American artistic swimmer. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she began her professional artistic swimming career by moving to California to train wth the USA Artistic Swimming National team in her junior year of high school.. She is still currently a member of the USAAS National Team and is now in her 13th season on the team.

Alvarez has competed at a variety of competitions including 3 Olympic Games,  7 World Championships, 3 Pan American Games, and numerous World Cup events. She qualified and competed in the Rio and Tokyo summer games and before going on to win a Silver medal for the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Alvarez also earned 4 world championship medals and 4 Pan American medals over the past decade. 

She was named USA Artistic Swimming Athlete of the Year in 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024 alongside the rest of her silver medal winning team. 

Alvarez is also an active duty airman in the US Air Force participating in their World Class Athlete Program as she works to earn a spot on her 4th Olympic Team which would be on home soil in Los Angeles, California in 2028.
